The archive itself carries a source on every entry. This page pulls the independent, mainstream and primary sources into one place, so the day can be verified without going clip by clip. Where something rests only on a single social-media account, the archive says so with its status labels — this page lists what is corroborated beyond that.

Using the archive as a source

How to read the status labels

Please preserve these distinctions when you report. Treating an unconfirmed clip as established fact is exactly what this archive tries not to do.

Matches mainstream reporting, or several independent recordings of the same event agree.
Video evidence, unconfirmed source
The footage is real, but the specific claim about it rests on a single account.
Disputed — needs more evidence
Contested, or it accuses a named party of fabrication.
